For career day I went to Murrieta Dance Project dance studio and shadowed Erin Babbs. Erin Babbs is the owner of the studio, tumbling class instructor, choreographer, and a dance instructor. I observed as she made sure that the kids how to perfect their routines that would be performed at competitions the same or following weekend. I also helped correct the students turns, sickled feet, penché’s, ect.
I loved being able to watch the whole routine put together with all of the props and all of the students putting their all into every run through, facial expressions and all! I also thought it was really cool to watch the kids improve their routines and take critiques so easily. I don’t think there was any part of the career that I didn’t enjoy.
While I was at the dance studio everything was as I thought it would be. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t previously know or wasn’t expecting.
Based on everything I had observed and participated in on my career day this is definitely a career that I would consider pursuing in the future. I really liked being able to work with kids of different ages and seeing them learn how to do different dances in such short amounts of time.
