The Fibonacci Sequence is a mathematical term that refers to a sequence of numbers. Each number is the result of adding the two previous terms together. The Fibonacci Sequence is 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233. 1+1= 2, 1+2= 3, 2+3= 5, 5+8= 13, 8+13= 21, 13+21= 34, and so on. The Fibonacci Sequence is not just a bunch of numbers, it creates a spiral and it’s actually found in a lot of things. In succulents, flowers, shells, fruit, pine cones, and even vegetables.
The Golden Ratio is another mathematical term that is related to the Fibonacci Sequence. They’re related because when you take any of the numbers that are one after the other of the Fibonacci Sequence the ratio gets very close to the Golden Ratio. The bigger the pair of Fibonacci Numbers you take the closer they get to the Golden Ratio.
Throughout this project I learned that the Fibonacci sequence is everywhere. Its used in more than just math and you can use it to create a lot of beautiful art work. I have studied the Fibonacci sequence a few times before this assignment so I refreshed my memory on what I had learned in the past. Overall I really enjoyed the art portion of the project and the hands on work that we got to do.
